Hungarian Embroidery Kit: Matyo Felt Heart Ornament (1 or 2-pack)

Charming folk art heart ornaments to embroider, designed by Maria Kovacs of Mezokovesd, Hungary. Choose between the original “1-pack” kit, or a “2-pack” kit which contains supplies to make two heart ornaments, but one needle and instructions booklet.

A quick project, but recommended for experienced embroiderers because the silky rayon thread is more difficult to work with than cotton. The ornament measures approximately 4 inches across and features a traditional Matyo motif embroidered in silky threads on wool felt. Kit contains off-white wool felt with hand-screened pattern, silky rayon thread from Hungary, red felt backing, a needle, red ribbon for hanging, a photo of the finished ornament and instructions (in English).

Other supplies needed are scissors/thread cutters, stuffing, and pinking shears to cut out the heart. If you are interested in making more than two ornaments, contact me and I can put together a custom kit.
